Besalú is a small town, a historical enclave that has preserved virtually intact a structure of streets, churches, monasteries, baths, houses, hospitals and portals, as well as its entrance bridge, the true emblem of the town and of great heritage importance. All these elements reflect its splendid medieval past as the capital of the former county of Besalú.
